Our Story

We started a publishing house with no roadmap, no plan, and two completely opposite backgrounds.

My sister Haseeba and I have always been total opposites. While she holds a Master’s in Islamic Studies, I come from a background in Architecture. She studied in an Islamic school, while I attended a Christian school. For a long time, my own Islamic foundation felt very modest compared to hers.

The weight of that gap only hit me when my daughter was born. I realized I could teach her to memorize Surahs, but I didn't know how to make her fall in love with Allah. How do I explain Who He is, why we worship Him, or how every tiny act we do is rewarded with the ultimate goal of Jannah?

I searched for clarity through endless parenting blogs, pages, and influencers, but it only left me feeling overwhelmed. The “how-to” was everywhere, but the simple, soulful starting point I was desperate for just wasn't there.

Everything changed in 2024 at the Sharjah International Book Fair. Seeing the incredible, high-quality Islamic children’s literature from around the world was a revelation — it was exactly what I needed, and I realized it was completely missing in the Indian market.

Within a week, Qalam and Noor was born. I got Haseeba on board, and we dove in without a roadmap. We knew this was the right thing to do. Allah has chosen this for us. We originally planned to just resell international books, but between the high costs of importing and the lack of quality faceless illustrations, we knew we had to do more.

We decided to become creators instead of just curators. By combining Haseeba’s deep Islamic knowledge with my ability to come up with ideas and research, we began creating the very books and resources that a struggling parent needs, or for anyone in search of books for their children who simply don't know where to start.

We published our very first original book in October. Alhamdulillah, we are still building our team and learning the business every day, but we are finally creating the resources I once searched for every struggling parent like me.

Our Mission & Vision

How do we help our children truly love Islam?

As an educator and student of knowledge, one concern has always stayed with me: How do we help our children truly love Islam?

Over the years, I noticed that many children grow up seeing Islamic learning as something difficult, routine, or disconnected from their everyday lives. Not because our Deen lacks beauty, but because engaging, meaningful, and age-appropriate resources are often limited. In many homes and classrooms, Islamic education does not always receive the attention and creativity it deserves.

Yet Allah created us for a noble purpose: to worship Him and know Him. I firmly believe that when children understand this purpose from a young age, their relationship with Islam becomes one built on love, conviction, and joy rather than mere obligation. When this foundation is strong, it shapes every aspect of their lives.

This belief is what led me, along with my sister Hafsah, to start Qalam & Noor Publications.

Our vision extends far beyond publishing books. We want to create resources that spark curiosity, strengthen Eeman, and make learning Islam an enjoyable experience for children. Every book, activity, and resource we produce is designed with the hope that children will not only learn about Islam but develop a genuine connection with it.

Through creative, engaging, and authentic content, we want to help children see that Islam is not something distant, dry, or reserved for special occasions. It is a beautiful way of life that brings purpose, meaning, and guidance to every day.

My greatest hope is that the next generation grows up proud of their Muslim identity, deeply connected to their Deen, and excited to learn more about it. If Qalam & Noor can play even a small role in nurturing that love for Islam, then we consider our mission a success, In Sha Allah.
